At Southridge, children matter now.
They are not just the future Church, but part of the Church today!
What to Expect
On Sunday mornings, you and your family can enter through the main front doors of the church and see the Check-In station to the right when you enter the lobby (by the sanctuary doors). Volunteers will be available to walk you through the check-in process, whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular!
If you'd like a tour of the Ridge Kids spaces when you arrive, our Children's Ministry Director will be happy to walk you through and show you the rooms and how things work.
Ridge Kids prioritizes the safety of children, and volunteers are given training to uphold safety protocols and healthy boundaries for the kids. Our Safety & Security Team attends the Ridge Kids area throughout the entirety of Sunday services to ensure the children's security and carry out emergency protocols if needed.
Nursery
Babies through 3-year-olds (not yet potty trained)
Preschool & Kindergarten
3 through 5-year-olds (potty trained)
Elementary
1st through 5th grade
Children can be dropped off in the Nursery and in the Preschool & Kindergarten room at the start of the service. Elementary students join in the service for the first portion and then are released to their Ridge Kids room.
Sunday morning lessons for all age groups occur every Sunday during the service, unless there is a fifth Sunday in the month. On fifth Sundays, we have Family Sundays, during which all kids join their families to worship together in the sanctuary! Nursery care is still available on fifth Sundays.
Ridge Kids ministry aims to foster Scriptural teaching, spiritual formation, Biblical knowledge, theological understanding, and the growth of children's relationships with God. We desire to encourage and equip children to grow in their own relationship with Jesus while learning about who God is and how much he loves them.
Ridge Kids partners with families by providing resources and workshops for parents and guardians, hosting fun events for the whole family, and encouraging families to continue discipleship practices at home. We pray Ridge Kids leads children to a Christ-centered and Spirit-led relationship with God as well as an understanding of the best story ever told - the story of Scripture.
