Children's Ministries

Amplify-Logo-large-COLOR-1024x359

At Southridge we value your children. Our ministry is very intentional in fostering your child’s spiritual maturity process, whether they are in our nursery or near their High School graduation day. And while we know that we are not, nor should be the number one influence of your child’s spiritual development (because parents are!) We want to be your number one teammate in that process!

What makes church GREAT for your kids?

Consistency…Attending the same service every weekend gives your child the chance to build life-long relationships with kids who live in the same area as they participate in the same small group each week

Reinforcement…Asking your child “Hey, what was the main point this week?”  and helping them remember it throughout the week by completing the activities from the parent flyer reinforces what was learned and builds character in your child.

Commitment…There is nothing greater that you can invest your time in than the local church to build a healthy, strong, Christ-centered child.  There are 52 weekend opportunities each year —are you taking advantage of them all?

Kid Check

Amplify is excited to introduce KidCheck as the next step in security and convenience for our families.

What is KidCheck?

KidCheck is an electronic check-in system that will be used at Southridge to expedite check in procedures any time your child attends a Children’s Ministry function at the church. This new system will provide added security while your child is at church and eliminate the need to fill out forms at the room.

Why KidCheck?

The Children’s Ministry staff desires to keep our ministry safe. We have chosen KidCheck because it is easy enough for elementary children to use and it is safe enough to flag children with the most life-threatening allergies.

Why Will Parents Like It?

Parents have control over their account. You can give as much information about your child as you desire. This includes medical information, how you can be reached in an emergency and which members of your family may pick up your children from their classroom.   Once you’ve created your account checking in will be easy.  You can use your ten digit telephone number or we will give you an ID card (similar to a grocery discount card) which will check in your family. Once you have checked in, a nametag and a corresponding claim check will print out for all of your children. That’s right! you will get one receipt with all your children listed. If Mom and Dad each want a receipt, KidCheck will print a duplicate.

At the check-in station, automated claim stickers will be generated for children.  There will be no more standing at the door filling out claim check stickers. There will be check in stations at the Oasis and the nursery.

Creating a KidCheck Account

Signing up for KidCheck is easy and free for parents. Once you have created your KidCheck account, you can add your kids and guardians.  You can also upload photos of yourself, your kids and your guardians to make it easy for your childcare provider to identify them.

1.  Go to go.kidcheck.com (do not type www).

2.  Select “I am a parent and want to create a free account.”

3.  Fill in the requested fields and click on “Register”.

4.  Agree to the license agreement. You will then be directed to the “Setup Your Account ”  page.

5. Click  “Save”. You will then be directed to the “My Account” page.

6. Click on each of the tabs listed on the “My Account” page and complete the information.

  • “My Profile”. This is the information you just entered. You may return to this page at any time to update information.
  • “My Kids”. This is where you will input your child’s information and upload photos.  Click “Add a Child” to enter your child. Remember to click “Save Changes”.
  • “My Guardians”. This is where you will input your spouse and additional guardians and upload photos. Click “Add a Guardian” to enter your spouse or additional people who are authorized to pick up your children. Remember to click “Save Changes”.

7.  Your account is complete!

When you check-in for the first time, use your 10 digit home or cell phone number associated with your account. If you need to make changes you may go into your account page at anytime and make changes by selecting the “Login” link at www.kidcheck.com.   Once you have gone to the website and created your account you may still have some questions or concerns. We are happy to address those on Sunday morning or you can e-mail Stephanie Willoughby.

Nursery

We cherish your child as a gift from God and will provide quality care in a fun, loving and safe environment.   Our caregivers share a love of Jesus Christ and children!  Our Nursery is currently divided into three rooms to promote safety:

Little Lambs Program- On Sunday mornings we offer a short story and activity for our oldest nursery participants.  This program helps introduce Bible concepts and helps prepare them for our preschool program.  Visit www.handsonbible.com to find out more information on the curriculum we use.

Preschool (ages 3 & 4) and Young 5′s/Kindergarten- Our morning begins with fellowship time in our classrooms.  Preschoolers meet  in room 138.  Young 5′s/Kindergarten children meet in room 144.

All children attend worship time in the Oasis led by our student band.

The curriculum we use for these two age groups is Elevate Jr.

Preschool/Young 5's/Kindergarten

Our morning begins with fellowship time in our classrooms.   Preschoolers (ages 3 and 4) meet in room 138.  Young 5s/Kindergarten children meet in room 144.

All children attend worship time in the Oasis led by our student bands.

The curriculum we use for these two age groups is Elevate Jr.  Through interactive video segments and classroom activities, your children are taught lessons from the Bible. Each week children travel to an imaginative world with puppets, animation, songs, drama and group participation. Through Elevate Jr., your child will learn the Bible lesson and discover how it applies in the everyday life of a preschooler.

Elementary

Each weekend your children can be a part of an exciting and active environment filled with songs, games and lovable characters that teach Godly values at an age-appropriate level. Our weekend services meet at the same time as adult services, and are designed for all children from 1st–5th Grade. So while you are experiencing the creative, life-changing worship of Southridge, your children are experiencing it as well.

5th Grade Grapple

During the 11:00 a.m. service our 5th graders step out for Grapple.  These are Sunday school lessons where preteens dig into the Bible to grapple with faith and life issues. Each topic is approved by a Preteen Panel, so they are relevant, Sunday after Sunday.

FGF or Fifth Grade Fellowship meets monthly.  It’s a time for fifth graders to step out and step up their faith.

Our FGF schedule for 2011-2012…We will meet most fourth Sundays of the month at 4:00-5:30 p.m.
