Our Vision

As servants of Jesus Christ, guided by His Word, we seek to attract and invite the un churched and over-churched to be loved by God, to love and serve God and others, and to help people come to spiritual maturity and experience the power of prayer.

Our Beliefs

We believe in God the Father, creator and sustainer of Heaven and Earth.

We believe in Jesus, His Son, who came to Earth, died on the cross, and arose from the grave, that we may know forgiveness and eternal life.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who enables us to experience God's many blessings.

We believe the Bible to be the Word of God by which we govern our lives.

We believe in reaching out so that all may know Jesus Christ as their God and Savior.

We believe in the importance of glorifying God in all aspects of our lives.

We believe in the power of prayer, our communication with God. We believe in a strong commitment to nurturing spiritual growth in both our lives and the lives of others. We believe in giving our lives in service to unleash God's power to impact the world

A Brief History

Southridge is part of the Reformed Church in America . We began as a project of the Kalamazoo Classis Extension Committee to fill the need for another Reformed Church in Portage Township . Since services began in 1960, four senior pastors have helped lead Southridge to where we are today. We have grown significantly in the last ten years which has led to an increase in the number of staff. Due to the large number of people attending worship, we outgrew our sanctuary at our original Romence Road facility. So, in 1993 we moved to the multi-purpose room for two services each Sunday morning. After a few years worshiping in the multi-purpose room, Southridge moved to the auditorium of Kalamazoo Valley Community College for Sunday morning worship. Finally, in October of 2001, Southridge moved into our new home on Texas Drive. Throughout the latter half of the 1990's, Southridge also began transforming the services to become contemporary in format. In spring 2007, we opened the Oasis. This addition allows for expanded youth and children's ministry while also providing more rooms for classes, Bible studies, and other events.
